KVGI’s Editorial Ethics and Guidelines
KVGI Media’s portfolio of modern editorial networks and partners across multiple mediums are driving the future of journalism and entertainment in both radio and video productions.
We believe in working with talented people, the judgment of our staff, the transcendent importance of serving the interests of our audiences, and a commitment to integrity and passion. Through the KVGI Media editorial guidelines, we aim to give our teams clear guidance about what to avoid and the public knowledge of what to expect.
Simultaneously, we recognize the impossibility of reducing the complexity of real life to a simple checklist or rule book and encourage conversation and dialogue with colleagues and supervisors about concrete situations as superior to trying to craft an ethics policy that would address every conceivable dilemma.
As the needs of our newsrooms, studios, events and audiences change, our guidelines will adapt to ensure that KVGI Media’s work is always deserving of our audiences’ trust.
Advertising and Revenue Partnerships
KVGI Media is home to multiple editorial networks and the business’s that enable them. In no case, however, do the efforts of these business’s interfere with the integrity of our editorial contributors or the content they create via our media outlets.
To the extent that editorial content is made possible through the support of sponsors, that content is clearly marked on the KVGI Media websites and social media accounts as content “Presented by” the applicable sponsor, and within our shows/videos/podcasts that content is accompanied by a similar verbal designation. In these cases, our sponsors may select which content they wish to support, however we do not allow our KVGI Media Sales teams or our sponsors to control or interfere with the editorial integrity of our editorial contributors and the content they create. Any content featured on a KVGI Media websites and social media accounts that is paid for by a particular company or advertiser and that is developed by the KVGI Media Sales teams from our editorial contributors is clearly marked as “Advertiser Content”, and within our podcasts that content is accompanied by a similar verbal designation.
Some of our content contains affiliate links, which means we will receive a commission for purchases made via those links; when our editorial or commerce teams have manually added affiliate links to our articles, we will include a disclosure within the content.

Conflicts of Interest, Activism and Disclosures
KVGI Media’s newsrooms have complete editorial independence and our editorial staff and contributors take their beats seriously. In some instances, their reporting may involve or include a personal or family relationship, personal financial investment, or relevant political activity. Any editorial team member or contributors will be recused from a story and/or publicly disclose conflicts of interest. Our editorial staff will also refrain from demonstrating or donating to causes that could compromise their journalistic coverage of an issue.
KVGI Media also has a number of investors, which may not be disclosed. Our investors do not influence our reporting and do not have any involvement with our internal reporting process or any control of day to day operations.
Corrections, Updates and Deletions
KVGI Media makes every effort for content to be completely accurate upon publication. If a correction is required, however, we are transparent and will update a story if new information either adds to or corrects an aspect of the original story. We will issue corrections for a factual error or if a typo in the copy could cause audiences to misunderstand the story.
We almost always leave all editorial content live, with notes and corrections as needed. We may, in rare instances, remove content from our websites, social media pages, or related platforms for legal reasons or extenuating circumstances. We will note that we do so with an editorial note in those very rare circumstances. Removal will never be at the direction of, or be influenced by, our advertisers and will always be approved by the leadership team.
Gifts and Giveaways
We do not accept gifts or other consideration from companies as a condition or incentive to write a review or story, whether favorable or unfavorable. Any gifts accepted by our editorial contributors will be of nominal value and in no way compromises or guarantees editorial coverage of the event, product, or service.
Occasionally, KVGI Media will conduct contests and sweepstakes for our audiences. We will post rules for each contest and sweepstake that will be binding on those who decide to participate. While sweepstakes or contests may be sponsored by an advertiser or partner, they are not, and should never be, considered endorsements of the entities involved or their products.
KVGI Media hires our editorial contributors/employees/intern/show hosts for their strong, expert voices, and values their ability to build positive communities and influence on our platforms and their own. Because editorial staff’s roles or affiliation with KVGI Media on social platforms also means that they are seen as representing KVGI Media in those spaces, we ask all editorial staff to wield their voices with extra care, particularly when commenting on topics they cover. Behavior on social media is a reflection of both one’s personal and professional self and, as a voice of KVGI Media and our editorial networks, we ask our editorial teams to apply the same journalistic integrity required in our editorial content when posting on social media, and to be conscious of their role within KVGI Media and how their social posts could impact their work, the work of others, and KVGI Media as whole.
Note: Our editorial guidelines leave no room for indulging harassment on social media at any time! If any KVGI Media contributors/employees/intern/show hosts is the recipient of harassment on social media, they should access and review our protocol for reporting online abuse.
